Is Cornerstone affiliated with a denomination?
Yes, we're one of approximately 1,300 churches in the U.S. in the Evangelical Free Church of America. Find out more about the EFCA at www.efca.org.

What is a typical service like?
You'll find people of all ages here who treat each other like a big family. There are about 350 people, including kids, who attend here regularly, split between our two services on Sunday mornings. Our worship style is contemporary. We have two excellent worship bands who lead us in worship using the latest instruments and sound technology. On any given Sunday you'll hear worship music in a current musical style as well as occasional classic hymns done in a fresh way along with current multimedia technology.

You'll hear a solid, uncompromising message right from the Bible each week with a special emphasis on how we can apply God's Word to our lives in a very practical and meaningful way right where we live.

How many services do you have each Sunday?
We have two services on Sunday mornings: 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Both services are identical in style and message and both offer Sunday School for children from birth through sixth grade.

See the "What is a typical service like" item above for more info.

How can I get a copy of one of the messages?
The easiest way is to just navigate to the message archive on this website and click on the message you'd like to hear. If you'd rather get a CD or a tape, just call our church office or sign up for one on a Sunday morning at the church.

What should I wear to a service?
When you come here, you'll find that people generally dress in casual or what you might call "business casual" styles. Just come how you feel comfortable.

People dress casually at our Sunday evening "Resonate" service.

Do you have a ministry for children?
We'll take great care of your kids from birth through sixth grade in our Nursery or Sunday School program. These programs run at the same time as our services.

Do you offer Sunday School for teens and adults?
No. Instead, we offer a wide range of small group Bible studies for adults that meet in homes or at the church for Bible study, fellowship, prayer and mutual support during the week. Teens join their parents in the services and also have Bible study at Youth Group meetings on Friday evenings.

If I like it here, how can I become a member?
Attend our Membership Class which is divided into two evenings. ItÂ’s a basic introduction to our church family designed to clearly explain who we are, what we believe, and what our church is all about. This is a great opportunity to learn about Cornerstone Community Church, get to know our senior pastor, Armand Tiffe, and meet others.

You don't have to become a member to attend the class -- it's just for your information. But if you would like to become a member, both sessions are required. We'll explain how we operate, the history of our church, answer your questions, and explain how our membership process works. After the class you can decide whether or not you would like to join us in membership. Classes are offered twice a year.

Will I be expected to give money when I come?
At each service we collect tithes and offerings, because God expects it (Mal. 3:10) and because that's how any church receives funding to operate, but as our guest, don't feel any obligation to participate in this part of the service. It's for our regular attendees and members.

Give me a quick overview of Cornerstone's history.
Cornerstone Community Church began in the summer of 1989 as a group of 15-20 people who had a vision to plant an evangelical church in the Hillcrest area of Cleveland's east suburbs. Pastor Armand Tiffe and the core group of Cornerstone believed that a contemporary style church with a relevant presentation of the Word of God would meet the needs of many in the Hillcrest area.

Cornerstone held its first public worship service in September of 1989 and has grown steadily ever since. Throughout our history there has been an upbeat spiritual energy and excitement about what God has done through this ministry and will continue to do. Our average attendance is now over 300.

Cornerstone began meeting publicly at the Hillcrest YMCA and met there until the spring of 1996. In 1994 we purchased the property where the church is now located. The property already had a church building on it, but it was much too small. Before we moved in, we added the 420-seat Worship Center and renovated the old section into office and classroom space. In 1999 we added a new wing with four classrooms and quickly filled them. We now have finalized plans to build a new classroom wing with eight more classrooms, a new garage and expanded parking.
