"What's a Small Group?"
At Cornerstone, a Small Group is a group of usually 8 to 12 people who get together on a regular basis to study the Bible, discuss how it applies to their lives, pray for one another and personally connect with each other through fellowship.
"Why Should I Be In One?" Biblically, every Christian is a disciple. A disciple is a learner, a follower of Jesus Christ. The Small Group is our primary means of helping people grow into spiritually maturing disciples. It's where we can ask questions and learn from one another. It's where we learn how God's Word impacts our daily life and how we can go about making it real and personal.
The Small Group is also where we develop meaningful, supportive relationships with others. It's just not possible to develop close friendships when you only see one another occasionally on Sunday mornings. Relationships take time to develop -- they need regular interaction on a deeper level. And that's what Small Groups specialize in!
"When and Where Do They Meet?" Our Small Groups typically meet weekly (Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays) from September through May in homes or at the church, depending on the group. Most groups meet in the evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., but we also offer a group that meets on a weekday morning. Most groups have a minimal fee that will cover the cost of a book or a study guide.
